Christmas in Corolla

Am taking family to Corolla for Christmas this week and need to know if someone can tell us where we can get a list of restaurants that are open? Also, need reommendations for dinner places.

You might give this a look...although it starts out on a slightly different topic it switches to a Christmas/Dec. stay about midway with info.

Christmas in Corolla

Thanks so much for the information. We had a great Christmas in a nice house on the sound in Corolla in Currituck Club with a great view of the sunsets. There were several places open for dinner and our favorites were the Life Saving Station at The Sanderling and The Blue Pointe Bar and grill also on the sound. We had several great walks on the beach in 60 degree weather and felt like we had the place to ourselves.

Wonderful to hear. Thanks for sharing. I remember when we booked our first house at the Currituck Club we were concerned how our beach trip would go on ';the other side'; of the highway. Fantastic. Amazing homes there, right? And the newer ones in the northern end...just to drive around and take a peak was interesting. They don%26#39;t have an indoor pool as far as I recall, and the outdoor was good for the kids to play around a bit. But there was always tons to do; the homes are cute or newer or more affordable sunset views up that way...always something great about them. And the grocer nearby.

Was there an indoor poool at the Corolla Light Community? We are travelling there end of Feb w/kids...anything else to do in the area?

Bigmissy, yes, Corolla Light Resort is so great with large families and lots to do if you want it...or kick back if you want that. But it%26#39;s nice to have it available. The rec center ..they call it the Sort Center...is great. Look here for pix and info..but call their number to be certain it%26#39;s open in Feb:

We had a 2-week Christmas family reunion in Corolla. It was perfect. Corolla is a ghost town at Christmas, but we brought everyone we needed with us, so it was perfect! Many--not all--of the smaller shops are closed, but you can still get everything you need at Food Lion or Ace. No traffic, everything to yourself, all the good seashells just for us!
