Nice community in Southern NC coast to rent in Feb

I have seen the Corolla Light Community online and am wondering if there is anything similar further south ....we are planning a Feb vacation with kids and would a like a resort type place with indoor pool, on or very close to a beach and other stuff for kids to do....

Not sure if you are interested in a warm weather experience as it will be very chilly this time of year. Way too cold for swimming, outdoor temp could be as low as 20%26#39;s and as high as 50%26#39;s, hard to tell.

If you want true ';beach weather';, you will need to go really south-like Florida.

There are some activities to do down towards Nag%26#39;s Head, about 20 minutes South. North Carolina Aquarium, Jockey%26#39;s RIdge (outside), and Kitty Hawk Flight museum.

As for the pool, I suggest calling the property to see for sure.

We realize it won%26#39;t be beach bathing weather...we%26#39;re just spending school vacation week...looking for some relaxation, and the weather is sure to be better than Maine, where we are from. I did see a nice place in the northern OBX, but wonder if it%26#39;s worth traveling south to get a little warmer weather and more for the kids to do near Wilmington?

Maybe Kure Beach/Carolina Beach area?

Ocean Dunes Resort in Kure Beach is great! Indoor pool, fitness room, basketball court, tennis courts (might be able to use those in Feb in NC, you never know) Great area! Close to Wilmington, NC.

The Ocean Dunes resort is one minute, (if that) from the Aquarium, Ft. Fisher museum and Ferry.

Here is one website...notice all the listings for Ocean Dunes. Unit 2108 is right across the street from the pool area...very convenient. (don%26#39;t let the ';Street'; bother you....very little traffic)

or just google Ocean Dunes Resort, Kure Beach, NC

thanks for that info on ocean dunes- I%26#39;;ll check it out.

Northern OBX that includes Duck, Corolla, and Corova is a very nice area. They are about 20 minutes or so from the real ';heart'; of OBX-Nag%26#39;s Head Kill Devil Hills area.

If you are not too concerned with the weather-whcih I do believe will be much better than Maine, exploring the lighthouses (there are 3 on the banks-four counting Ocracoke), you can climb the Corolla and the further south Hatteras, shopping, and of course the other activities mentioned previously, would give you plenty to do and time to relax.
