we love fresh vegeatbles and country cooking, with that comes pot likker, which can be some of the best stuff cornbread, or in this case a hush puppy, ever got dunked into. any suggestions on who has the quintessential pot likker in north carolina?

I%26#39;d like to see the answers to this, too. Nothing like cornbread dipped in black-eyed pea pot likker!

RCs in Williamston, NC has some fine country cooking. Collards best I have ever eaten. Cornbread is cooked on a sheet pan and is crispy like pizza crust. Rutabaga is cooked with ham hocks - yummmy. I found this in a magazine called Our State.

Mary Mac%26#39;s in ATL serves pot likker soup...

mountainmoon that sounds yummy!

Best bet would be small out of the way place...off the beaten path. I would think.

a few years back some feiwnsa took me to a place in pittsboro nc that would make this list if only i could recall the name of it. any one care to try to refresh my memory?

The Daniel Boone Inn wonderful located in Boone N.C. and also a place called Shirley';s only open on week ends as long as you can eat the bowls are never empty all country cooking
