Family Vacation in NC in March - suggestions?

Hi! We are trying to plan a getaway in North Carolina in March. We will have between 5-7 adults (not sure yet)and 3 kids, ages 6, 4, and 3. We will all be driving be meeting up - some will be coming from Cincinnati, us from Tampa, and one from Norfolk.

We considered Asheville, but it seems like a lot of the kids attractions around there are closed until May (ghost town in the sky, santa land).

Then we considered Charlotte, but from reading posts on here, it doesn%26#39;t seem like there will be enough to keep us busy for 4 nights/5 days.

I am looking at Charleston, SC now but am not sure a beach vacation would be wise in March.

Any suggestions?? Thanks!

You could actually have pretty nice weather in March in Charleston. How about the Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg area? Dollywood, Aquarium, outlet shopping, hiking in Great Smoky mtns...Knoxville%26#39;s zoo is under an hour away and Ashevill is about 70 minutes.

In Asheville we have a wonderful kids museum called the Health Adventure as well as the WNC Nature Center and Arboreteum. Lots of great trails and hiking of course...the Biltmore...downtown Asheville...

I agree with Weaverville. Asheville is a great destination, and a central location to visit other area sights and attractions. Gatlinburg is a must-see if you never have, and my family loves Pigeon Forge. Dollywood is closed until March 21, though.

Hope you have a great trip!
