Calling Mickey & Mooch Fans...

I know there are Mickey %26amp; Mooch people on the board. I%26#39;m looking for a great place for DW%26#39;s birthday dinner. A few Q%26#39;s:

1. What%26#39;s good there?

2. Is it sufficiently quiet to have a romantic dinner? Can you get a reasonably placed table/booth or do they have this long row of a booth with tables jammed together?

3. Is Arboretum as good as Huntersville?

4. What are the best menu items?

5. Will I be pulling my hair out trying to negotiate rush hour traffic going to one or the other on a Thursday evening - say around 5:30 or so?

Thanks for any input!

Bud, have only been to the one in Huntersville and have always left very impressed w/ food and service.

My favorites are seared rare tuna for appetizer. All steaks are excellent as is the crispy flounder topped w/ crabmeat. Best side is the blue cheese cole slaw.

Tables are not jammed together, but it seems to be a rather loud restaurant.

Here%26#39;s their menu...

Thanks for the quick reply! The food sounds good, but the reviews on city-data say it is very loud. Maybe it%26#39;s a good place for a party but I%26#39;m thinking not for a 2 person birthday dinner. Still thinking....

Bud, for some reason it%26#39;s loud. Lots of business dinners but also lots of couples having dinner. Dressler%26#39;s in Birkdale Village may be more up your alley. Food and service are very good as well, but much easier to carry on a conversation.

I%26#39;ll check it out- thanks.

Steak and the flounder are the 2 things we get most. I agree...the Huntersville location is loud.

hmmm- ncgator- Dressler%26#39;s website looks good...tell me more- what type of seating do they have?

Bud, have only been one time and it was a business dinner. Located right in the middle of Birkdale Village (by the fountain and Brixx). I don%26#39;t have a clear recollection of seating, but seems mostly tables (can%26#39;t remember booths), bar in the entrance and lots of windows looking out. I remember service was very good as was the food (on par w/ Mickey %26amp; Mooch), but can%26#39;t recall much on the seating.

I have been to the one in the Arboretum twice and was not impressed at all. I have had a better steak at Outback. The food was subpar at best. It is a nice place to go have drinks but I would think about eating somewhere else. The other location may be better though. =)

I love Mickey And Mooch. My friend used to be a manager at the Arboretum one so back then we went up there a lot. Can be a little loud, but food is excellent. Lobster tail and Mussels are fantastic appetizers.

Another place to consider is 131 Main in huntersville. http://www.131-main.com/ Great environment and amazing food. Crab cakes were great.

Forgot about 131 Main....excellent.
