Advice for rehersal dinner near University Place(June weddin

I would appreciate anyone pointing us in the right direction.... The majority of the wedding party is from out of town and staying at the Hilton in University Place in Charlotte. We are loking to host the rehersal dinner close by(if possible)for convinence sake. The actual wedding rehersal is in Concord so if the restaurant could be near either place or between the two.

Price is not much of a factor but good food and a relaxing setting is very important. It would also be nice if the restaurant had a seperate area where the dinner could be held. I know I may be asking for the impossible but any help would be greatly appreciated.

Most of the University area is chain restaurants. Concord (especially around Concord Mills/Speedway) is as well. Can%26#39;t recommend much for you in the Univ. area, but there is a nice restaurant w/ a seperate room for reh. dinners/parties, etc...in the heart of downtown Concord (Historic District) called Union Street Bistro. Kannapolis, which neighbors Concord, has a new restaurant called Restaurant 46...trendy, popular, but don%26#39;t recall if it has a seperate room for private parties.

Thanks for the information on the two restaurants..tried to find a web site with no luck. Our son is going to visit the area for the holidays so he will be able to visit and see for himself. We may venture into Charlotte itself for the rehearsal dinner which will open up many more possibilities.

Thanks again

I recommend Austin%26#39;s on Union Grille in Concord. They did a great job for my cousin%26#39;s rehearsal dinner.

I like The Melting Pot even though it%26#39;s a chain...it%26#39;s a nice place for dinner in the university area....you could also look at Max%26#39;s Ally in Concord...good luck!

Max%26#39;s Alley just opened (Afton Village next to the YMCA). Heard very good things about it...run by the same folks that run Dressler%26#39;s in Birkdale Village.

You are right. Max%26#39;s Ally is owned by John Dressler and it%26#39;s a great place for private dinners because they have a seperate room for them. It%26#39;s in between casual and fine dining and the food is great.

Thank you all for your thoughts they are greatly appreciated. I am going to pass these along to my son who will be in Concord this weekend....good excuse to get out of the house and see the area.
