Inside Cameron

My family will be spending a day in Durham on our way to DC in a few weeks. My son is a HUGE Duke fan and would love to go inside Cameron. Do they offer any type of tour? We also want to see the Chapel and the gardens.

Inside Cameron

I was in Durham a couple months ago and tried to go into Cameron Indoor....every door was locked. I was told that anyone could just walk, but that wasn%26#39;t the case. I believe it was a Sunday, so perhaps that was the reason. Good luck.

Cameron is usually open during the day, but the doors are sometimes locked or guarded if something is going on in there. It really depends on the time of year you visit. The summer it%26#39;s often filled with basketball camps, so you may run into that. Just wander over there and give the doors a try. They are used to tourists coming by.

You can sign up for a campus tour which will go to the Chapel, but you can also tour that on your own (unless it is closed for a wedding or service). You can pick up a nice map of the gardens at the visitor center entrance off of Anderson St, but they do ask for a small donation for the map. It%26#39;s a beautiful campus - enjoy!

im going to the ncaa tournament in raleigh in march, and would love to view cameron. think ill be able to? march 20-24

No,No,No! Don%26#39;t bother! It%26#39;s a dirty, disgusting place!

ps just kidding! my son was just accepted into Duke for next fall and I%26#39;m trying to deal with it!

I know your question is about dook, but, if you%26#39;re a big basketball fan, I%26#39;d also recommend visiting Chapel Hill to visit the Dean Smith Center (Dean Dome) and the new Carolina basketball museum next door which is opening next Monday.
