Vegetarian and macrobiotic food

I have a friend traveling to the Duke University Cancer Center for treatment. She will be needing to stay there about a week at a time for several months.

She is on a macrobiotic diet?

Any place to eat in Durham? Or anyone who does macrobiotic catering?

Thanks

I don%26#39;t know diddly about macrobiotic stuff, but do know about vegetarianism enough to answer at least that part for you.

A full-vegetarian restaurant would be a rarity in NC...we have hardly any. However, veggie-friendly places (ie, restaurants with a couple of vegetarian entrees on the menu) are abundant.

In Durham, I%26#39;d recommend:

Anotherthyme, N. Gregson Street at W. Main.

Blue Corn Cafe, Ninth Street.

Cosmic Cantina, Perry Street (at Ninth).

Whole Foods Market, Broad Street at W. Main.

Durham Food Co-op, West Chapel Hill Street.

Elmo%26#39;s Diner, Ninth Street at Markham.

Baba Ghannouj, West Main Street at Ninth.

In neighboring cities, Irregardless Cafe and Humble Pie restaurants in Raleigh and the Spotted Dog Cafe in Carrboro are all popular among vegetarians.

I could go on, but basically most nice places throughout the Triangle offer at least a few non-meat dishes. For macrobiotic, though, I have no clue.
