Pinehurst in the winter

What is the weather like at Pinehurst in the winter ? December thru March. Would you recommend it for a golf vacation or is it too cold ?

Any information relating to past experiences would be appreciated.

It can be quite variable. It can be cold and snowy and icy or lovely and warm. December days could be in the 20s ( extreme) and March days could be in the 70s - no way to tell. You can get monthly ';averages'; on weather.com. Pinehurst operates all year, but I%26#39;d check the weather about a week before coming if you are coming to golf. Best wishes.

So would a quick golf get away around the begining of Jan be a good idea? or maybe somewhere like myrtle beach would be better?

The weather in Pinehurst and Myrtle Beach would be comparable with slightly warmer temp in Myrtle but more wind. It is risky either place but I have played golf on New Years in Pinehurst on numerous occasions. You can look for a high around 55F most days.

Jan %26amp; Feb can be very bad. Mid march begins to be predicably beautiful. If you can book on short notice, watch the 10 day outlooks on the weather channel. I guarantee you that there will be a string of 60+ degree days. I played #2 in Dec and it was over 80.

I glad you enjoyed the Pinehurst experience. It was recently voted the #1 Golf Resort in the US, I agree it is a magical place for golf.
