We only have one night-restaurant pick?

Hello there!

I know there are tons of wonderful restaurants in Wilmington. Unfortunately we only have time to try one. Can you help us?

We%26#39;ll be staying at the Best Western Coastline. We would love to walk to a place for dinner. Nothing fancy, just looking for great seafood/steaks.

What would YOU pick and why?

Thanks a bunch!

Yes there is loads to choose from downtown, unfortunately I havent been able to sample them all. You didnt mention a price range..but if you got the money I hear that Roys Riverboat Landing has good food, but the best part is the private ROMANTIC balconies that over look the riverfront. They remind you of a cozy Paris cafe. Elijahs is nice with good food too.

Thanks for replying.

I guess if I had to say a price range it would be along the same lines as Bone Fish grill and/or Outback, say total for 2 adults $70 or so?

Hope that helps!

Well for starters, most of the restaurants in downtown Wilmington I would never ever compare to any chains. ;-) But there IS a good variety of price ranges.

I second the recommendation of Riverboat Landing, at the corner of Water Street and Market Street. The view from the second floor is worth the price alone. (And of course the food was superb when I went.) It may top your range by a bit if you get extras like wine, dessert and so forth. But for basic dinner it%26#39;ll be fine...I recall most entrees under 20 bucks. If it%26#39;s a Friday or Saturday night (or any night during tourist season) I%26#39;d get a reservation.

We will definitely put Riverboat at the top of our list-thanks for the help!

We spend almost every weekend in Wilmington, and we love Circa 1922. (Tapas, great atmosphere, and a walk around town afterwards is great). One of our favorite evenings is always coctails and appetizers at 1922 (1/2 price tapas at the bar from 5-7PM every night- try the calamari!!), then a show across the street at Citystage Theater(Tommy is up now- we saw it last weekend. The theater is on the 5th floor of the Masonic Lodge with a bar overlooking the city ...amazing. AND, you can bring your coctail into the show if you want to. The theater has great historic significance- was bought by Dennis Hopper years ago to preserve it. A wonderful, funky, experience) Afterwards, we like Elijahs on the Riverwalk, or even the woprlds greatest pizza at Fat Tonys, both within walking distance. (Fat Tonys serves food until 2AM!) The Sofa Lounge over the French restaurant, Caprice, at the foot of Market is wonderful for a nightcap. Have fun!

Thanks for all the tips kmaheu! I have printed this off to take with us. We are getting excited about our trip!

There%26#39;s a fondue rest. downtown on front street called Little Dipper... It can be more expensive than 70 for 2 people though... Just depends on what you want for dinner...

http://www.encorepub.com/menus/dipper.htm is a menu.

Personally I%26#39;d stay away from Riverboat Landing as I don%26#39;t think the food%26#39;s all that good, but that%26#39;s just my experience there. Others (as you can see from above) have been very happy!

If you do decide to go the fondue route, def. call for reservations!! Also, this place does great dessert fondue as well if you wanted to try somewhere else to eat, and then LD for dessert!
