My husband and I are thinking about flying Skybus from Columbus, OH to Greensboro, NC. We just want to get away for the weekend and go somewhere we%26#39;ve never been. Where (city and hotel) would someone suggest. We are in our early 30%26#39;s. Would spend up to $200 on a hotel. We like to go out to eat, nothing fancy but good food. Maybe hit a few bars, not clubs. We like to shop too.
Weekend trip ideasTwo unique hotel ideas would be the O. Henry and Grandover Resort - all others will be cookie-cutter chains...unless you want to drive over to Winston-Salem and stay in a bed and breakfast at Old Salem. Old Salem is a restored colonial Moravian town - a mini-Williamsburg.

If you are willing to drive about 50 miles, you could drive to the Chapel Hill area (East on I-40). There, you can find some good hotels (Siena Hotel is a beautiful boutique hotel)
Chapel Hill is the home of UNC, so bars and clubs should be an option there. Also, many good places to eat on Franklin Street.
Chapel Hill is also a very pretty city with some stately southern homes. Durham is not too far away..home of Duke as well as some beautiful gardens.
