Husband and I will be heading back north but want to break the trip up. Should we stay at the Courtyard Marriott in Durham, or the one in Chapel Hill? Which place would be more interesting Sunday/Monday for contemporary art, or just poking around an old bookstore maybe? We always hear of great bands playing Chapel Hill too... But realize the scene may be somewhat lacking on a Sunday/holiday weekend. Any suggestions? Thanks!

You should stay at the Courtyard in Chapel Hill on Highway 54. I%26#39;m thinking you want to hit the following:
Chapel Hill--Ackland Art Museum, Franklin Street (for shops--though it%26#39;s not what it used to be), Cat%26#39;s Cradle (for bands)
Durham--Nasher Art Museum, Ninth Street, Regulator Bookstore
