Any info on this area of Kill Devil Hills?

Hello Outer Bannks!

We (extended family of 23) are getting ready to rent this home for a week at the end of June, start of July.

It%26#39;s 121 Tanya Dr. MP: 07.6, between Bypass and Beach Rd.

Can anyone tell me about the neighborhood/location? Is this a pretty good area of KDH to stay? Is it close to dining/grocery?

Thanks in advance for any help!

The area you will be in KDH is pretty much close to everything.

Plenty of dining, shopping and groceries. If you have never been to

the Outer Banks you will fall in love. I feel it is like no other place. We have been to Ocean Isle, Oak Island, Topsail Beach, and the Outer BAnks. If you want to have a nice seafood dinner please check out Owens it is about MP 16 on the beach road. True outer banks dining. Enjoy!

You are definitely close to dining %26amp; grocery. I think you%26#39;ll enjoy the location.

Joe Lamb Jr. is a reputable agency as well.

Hello BusyMe, I just looked at your rental home. Nice place. You are within 0.1 miles of the public beach access and there is a Food Lion grocery store no more than 1/2 mile away. You%26#39;re near the entrance to The Wright Brother%26#39;s National Memorial and the Nags Head Fishing Pier. KDH and NH are the most commercialized areas of the OBX. You%26#39;ll find whatever you%26#39;re looking for within a few miles. My recommendation for dinner is Miller%26#39;s Waterfront. Take-out BBQ is great at Sooey%26#39;s and dessert at Kill Devil%26#39;s ice cream stand. Don%26#39;t forget to get beverages and snacks at a Brew Thru. All of the grocery stores will be packed on Sat. and Sun. Bring a few non-perishables with you. Two tourist guidebooks that I suggest you look through are VGNet.com and Sunnydayguide.com. Plenty of ideas and coupons for you to browse through. Try not to pack too much stuff into the week. You can always come back the following year.

ENJOY!!

Another great resource is to go to http://maps.live.com

MSN maps has the best ';bird%26#39;s eye'; view of the Outer Banks. Just enter in your address and click on ';Bird%26#39;s Eye'; (not Aerial) to view your home and the area surrounding. It%26#39;s great to find out just what%26#39;s around you in a clear picture.

To see a birds eye view of your house and to click and drag to see what other things are in the area go to http://tinyurl.com/3ck3tm

Along the top of the map portion you will see a few options one of them being “Birds eye view” click on that and it will show you a close up view of your street. Drag the picture ‘eastward’ your house looks to be either the 1st or 2nd one on the street (just judging by size and the covered pool). If you drag ‘westward’ that road which is 5 lanes across is ‘the Bypass’ which will get you to most of the restaurants and grocery.

Looks like there is a putt putt place very close by and a shopping center.

The site is fun to ‘look’ around to see what’s in your neighborhood.

Happy planning
