What should we expect from Asheville ?

My husband and I are going to Ohio from Georgia and we are planning to stop in Asheville ; its going to be our 8 year wedding anniversary but we dont know what to expect . Please, can someone describe Asheville for us. We will really apreciate....

We are going to be there Nov 25 and we dont know if we should stay one or two nights.

charm, go ! you can%26#39;t afford to miss the gracious hosptality of the entire town. asheville is a gem in the mountains.

First thing you should probably do is look at exploreasheville.com

It is a mountain town in the South. Lots of art, local crafts, theater, music, some beautiful architechture, historic neighborhoods...all set in the mountain at 2200ft.

How long should we stay? and should we stay at the Biltmore Inn; the last reviews kind scare me...

Where you decide to stay really depends on your taste and budget. Some people like the historic aspect of the Grove Park Inn but many feel that the room size doesn%26#39;t warrant the rates. The Inn on the Biltmore Estate is supposed to be quite nice and the other hotel in that category would be Richmond Hill Inn.

If you want to stay downtown I%26#39;d try Haywood Park hotel or the Renaissance. If you want to be close to downtown there are a number of 2-2 1/2 star type places like Holiday Inn Express, Country Inn Suites etc.

There are many, many Bed and Breakfasts in the area. Another Inn that you might be interested in researching is the Princess Anne.

I would stay 2 or 3 nights.

I think we are going to stay in the Biltmore Estate, but know we need help with the ...best romantic restaurant in town, its for our anniversary so we want a very romantic place but with good food as well.

#1 - Richmond Hill Inn%26#39;s Gabrielle

#2 - Grove Park Inn - Horizon%26#39;s

For more moderate prices but nice ambiance
