Thanksgiving in NC

This is the first year our daughter has a week off for Thanksgiving. We are considering a trip to the mountains of NC. We have stayed in Asheville and loved it but I%26#39;d like to try something new. I%26#39;ve looked at a few cabins in Boone and by Beech Mountain but can%26#39;t decide. We haven%26#39;t skiied in years and I%26#39;m not sure there will be snow. Any suggestions?

A little early for skiing but I%26#39;m sure if they got snow, they%26#39;d open. but, it%26#39;s a long shot. Chetola Resort in Blowing Rock has a nice Thanksgiving Buffet - or are you planning to cook? You know - if you went over to Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge you%26#39;d have thousands of nice cabins from which to choose...and the Christmas Shows at the theaters in PF. Best wishes.

We%26#39;re planning on cooking . . I%26#39;m looking more for activities to combat cabin fever it strikes.

Sugar Mountain has opened for Business. So you could go skiing during Thanksgiving.

Some of the resorts did open this week due to the cold snap. Too early to tell conditions for T-Giving. If it%26#39;s cold they will make snow. But, it could be shirt-sleeve weather and no snow. Just have to wait and see. The resorts don%26#39;t have substantial bases yet to survive a warm spell.
